MODEX 2026 Show Recap: Connections, Conversations, and Momentum

MODEX 2026 proved once again why it’s one of the most influential events in the supply chain and manufacturing space. The show brought together a massive cross-section of the industry - from warehouse operations and logistics leaders to technology providers and systems integrators - all focused on improving efficiency, accuracy, and throughput in increasingly complex environments.

Across the week, the energy on the show floor never slowed down. Booths stayed active, aisles stayed busy, and conversations stayed focused on one thing: how to solve real operational challenges with practical, scalable solutions.

A Strong Show Built on Real Conversations

One of the biggest highlights of MODEX 2026 was the sheer volume - and quality - of conversations. Over the course of the show, we connected with more than 400 new contacts, but what stood out most was the depth behind those interactions.

These weren’t surface-level discussions. Many attendees came with specific use cases, operational pain points, and clear goals around improving efficiency in warehousing, distribution, and field operations. Topics like reducing manual data entry, improving inventory accuracy, speeding up receiving workflows, and increasing visibility across operations came up repeatedly.

There was also a strong focus on mobility - how teams can be empowered with the right tools directly at the point of work, rather than relying on disconnected systems or manual processes. The interest in practical, deployable solutions was extremely high, and the feedback reinforced that organizations are actively seeking technologies that deliver immediate operational impact.

Most importantly, there was a noticeable level of excitement about the solutions we brought to the table and how they could be applied in real-world environments.

Solutions That Drove Strong Interest

At the booth, conversations naturally centered around solving everyday operational challenges in warehouse and logistics environments. Attendees were especially engaged around tools that simplify workflows without adding complexity.

Key areas of interest included:

  • Mobile dimensioning solutions designed to eliminate manual measurement steps and improve shipment accuracy
  • The xScale solution, a Bluetooth-enabled scale that pairs with mobile dimensioning workflows to capture both weight
and dimensional data in a single, connected process
  •  New Android tablet options (coming soon) designed specifically to pair with mobile dimensioning solutions, giving teams a flexible, modern mobile platform for capturing and managing critical logistics data in real time
  • Rugged tablet solutions built specifically for warehouse floors, forklift operations, and demanding field environments where durability and reliability are critical
  • Value-priced forklift bundles that make it easier for organizations to deploy mobile technology at scale without significant upfront investment barriers

Across all of these discussions, one theme was consistent: companies are looking for solutions that are not only powerful, but also practical - easy to implement, easy to use, and able to integrate into existing workflows without disruption.

Speaking Session Spotlight: Matt Miller

A highlight of MODEX 2026 was the seminar led by Matt Miller, President and CTO of MobileDemand, titled “AI-Powered Mobile Dimensioning: Measure Anything, Anywhere, 3X Faster.” The session took place on Tuesday, April 14 in the Emerging Technologies Theater and drew strong engagement from attendees focused on next-generation supply chain innovation.

The presentation centered on the growing demand in supply chain operations for speed, accuracy, and flexibility - without sacrificing ROI. Matt highlighted how AI-powered mobile dimensioning is transforming warehouse and distribution workflows by enabling instant capture of dimensions, weight, photos, barcodes, and SKU-linked metadata directly at the point of work.

A key contrast throughout the session was the limitations of traditional stationary cubing systems - often costly, immobile, and slow - versus modern smartphone - and tablet-based solutions that bring measurement capability directly to the product. These mobile approaches allow organizations to measure anything from parcels to pallets up to three times faster, at roughly one-third the cost of legacy systems.

Real-world applications resonated strongly with attendees, including use cases in master item data collection, slotting optimization, last-mile delivery, reverse logistics, and broader warehouse automation initiatives. The discussion also emphasized seamless integration with WMS, PIM, and ERP systems, helping organizations improve visibility, collaboration, and data consistency across the supply chain.

Overall, the session reinforced a clear message: mobile-first, AI-enhanced workflows are quickly becoming a foundational part of modern logistics operations.

Team Presence at MODEX

This year’s show was also a strong team effort. Attending from MobileDemand were:

  • Mark Boyer
  • Hannah Burds
  • Amy Garman
  • Dylan Harris
  • Matt Miller
  • Peter Seele

Having some of our team onsite allowed for broader coverage across conversations, deeper engagement with attendees, and more meaningful time with partners and prospects. It also created a strong internal dynamic for sharing insights from the show floor and quickly identifying emerging themes across industries.

Beyond the Booth: Team Time and Unexpected Moments

Outside of the booth, the week also provided valuable time to reconnect as a team. Shared meals throughout the show helped balance the fast pace of the event and created space to reflect on conversations, compare insights, and recharge between busy days.

A few team members also experienced self-driving vehicles for the first time through Waymo, which quickly became a fun and memorable part of the trip.

Looking Ahead

MODEX 2026 made one thing clear: demand for smarter, more connected warehouse and logistics solutions continues to grow. The interest in mobile technology, dimensioning, rugged devices, and integrated workflows reflects a broader shift toward real-time, data-driven operations.

More importantly, the conversations we had weren’t just about exploration - they were about action. Many organizations are actively ready to move forward, build partnerships, and implement solutions that drive measurable improvements.

We’re excited to keep the conversation going, continue building on the connections made at the show, and help teams improve efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across their operations.
